Commanders Coach Accepts Blame for Keeping Daniels in Game Prior to Serious Harm

The Commanders head coach Coach Quinn has admitted he bears some the fault for a serious injury to the team’s quarterback, Jayden Daniels.

Details of the Harm and Context

Daniels, who had one of the greatest rookie campaigns of all time the previous year, sustained a dislocated left elbow in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks. Even though the quarterback passes with his dominant arm, the issue has placed his season uncertain. The injury was significant enough that the television broadcast avoided showing replays and multiple athletes turned away as he was treated by medical staff.

Criticism and Leader’s Response

Coach Quinn came under scrutiny as many felt the rookie should not have been on the playing surface to begin with. The injury happened in the final period with the Washington behind 38-7, making a comeback unlikely. It is typical in these situations for teams to insert their reserve QB to prevent injuries to their starter.

“I get that. I’ve been thinking about it nonstop, too, and, wow, I missed it,” he remarked of his decision to leave Daniels in the match. “That is 100% on me.”

Aftermath and Squad Outlook

Mariota will be the Commanders’ starting quarterback going forward, but he will lead a roster in turmoil. After making the conference title game the prior year behind the rookie’s brilliance, the franchise have faced difficulties currently. They also lost defensive back Lattimore (ACL tear) and pass-catcher Luke McCaffrey (collarbone fracture) on game day, and have a number of other key players on the injury list. The Commanders are three wins and six losses so far, and it would require a huge turnaround for the club to make the postseason.
